In V2 of RIXML the Index structure was added to ProductClassifications. From the documentation it is to indicate if an industry index is mentioned in the research. What are the Country, Region, Sectorindustry, Weighting and Rating elements contained in it for? The Index element has a type attribute. Three possible values of that attribute are Industry, Country, and Region (from the IndexTypeEnum enumeration on page 54 of the RIXML 2.1 User Guide). The reason that the Index element can contain a SectorIndustry element, a Country element, or a Region element is to enable publishers to specify the particular industry, country or region that is the focus of the index. This is especially important where the index is publisher-defined. The Rating and Weighting elements can be contained within an Index element because certain publishers may wish to supply ratings/weightings relative to the index. This is consistent with the manner in which we handle ratings/weightings for industries, countries, regions, etc. See the diagrams on page 25 and page 29 for an illustration of this point. I hope that helps clarify our intent. Let me know if you have further questions. | |||
